Support REEP in 2011 Kitchener Budget!

Update: REEP Funding Approved!

Dear Friends of REEP,

I am happy to report that yesterday at the end of the day, City of Kitchener Council voted to approve the funding for REEP in 2011. This is great news and we are very happy to have the City's support this year.

We want to thank all of the Friends of REEP who contacted their councillors to show their support for REEP's work in Kitchener. Your help made a big difference!

We look forward to a busy year of energy and water programs in Kitchener and throughout Waterloo Region!

Best wishes,

Mary Jane Patterson

Local Support is Our Foundation

Every year since 2002, the City of Kitchener has provided funding to REEP. This consistent support allows us to bring more funds into our community

REEP also receives consistent support from the Region of Waterloo, the City of Cambridge, Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro and Waterloo North Hydro. This core support really strengthens our organization!

In 2010, this local funding including $25,000 from the city, allowed us to bring in almost $400,000 in federal and provincial grants. This local support is our foundation!

Where Does This Funding Go?

This funding supports our organization and the variety of services that we provide, including environmental education, water protection, and the amazing new REEP House for Sustainable Living. It is not used to subsidize home energy evaluations. REEP Programs

  • Greening Sacred Spaces: Environmental stewardship and energy audits for faith groups
  • Well Aware: Source water protection through home visits and public awareness campaign
  • RAIN: Pilot awareness and action program about rain water runoff in our back yards
  • Solar Potential Assessment: What is your home’s potential for solar energy?
  • ecoENERGY Retrofit for Homes: Home energy evaluations, third party expert advice
  • Low income energy retrofit pilot (2006-2007)
