As of January 28, 2012, the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program is closed to new registrations. A new deadline for post-retrofit evaluations has also been established. Click here for important dates.
ecoENERGY Grants
The maximum ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes grant is $5,000 for applications since 2007. If you have participated before April 1, 2011, and have not received the maximum amount for your current property, you can submit one more application for additional improvements made after June 6, 2011 (See Your Four Steps).
ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes grants are available for the following energy-saving home upgrades:
- Heating systems
- Cooling systems
- Ventilation systems
- Domestic hot water equipment
- Ceiling (attic) insulation
- Exterior wall insulation
- Exposed floor insulation
- Basement insulation
- Crawl space insulation
- Air sealing (draft-proofing)
- Windows, doors and skylights
- Low-flush or dual-flush toilets

Kitchener Home Energy Grants
Kitchener Home Energy Grants are available for the following energy-saving home upgrades, in Kitchener homes built before 1970. These grants may be received in addition to ecoENERGY grants.
- Ceiling (attic) insulation
- Exterior wall insulation
- Exposed floor insulation
- Basement insulation
- Crawl space insulation
- Air sealing (draft-proofing)
