  • Organizing a 'walk to worship' day (based on the successful 'walk to school' day in April), including issues such as barriers to participation, how to organize a successful event
  • Organizing an ongoing ‘walkathon’ event (e.g. Christian churches sometimes sponsor a virtual pilgrimage during lent, where participants keep track of the distances they walk, and tally these distances to ‘walk to Jerusalem’)
  • Providing information about organizations that can help them promote sustainable transportation, such as Grand River Carshare, Grand River Transit, Recycle Cycles
  • ther ideas that faith groups could integrate: bike maintenance workshops at their place of worship, carpool organization, GRT information, installing a bike rack
